We really enjoy staying at this park. We stay in a 36 ft 5th wheel. Sites are spacious, clean, firepits big and nice, swimming pool, kid and family friendly, playgrounds, security is stickler on kids on bikes and wearing helmets. It's like they have nothing better to do. Beach access (although a small hike in sand around cove), can pop tent, but just collapse at certain hours and re-erect at certain hours. Staff can be rude in store. Prices are expensive in store, as is every RV campground. Bad downfall is a LONG waiting list if you don't plan in advance. 6 month advance booking allowed, but hard to get. Time share available but is $25,000 to have a spot quaranteed. Considered it. Big park with 400 spots with a lot of traffic sometimes. Can be really crowded, especially on 4th of July when we went. I would definitely recommend to friends. Happy camping!
This was our first visit to this park. We have a 36 ft. 5th wheel and stayed here in for one week. Pro's: Clean, pull through and back in paved sites, very spacious, nice large grass area, heated pool and huge hottub, fire pits (select sites), quiet, laundryroom clean, clean bathrooms/showers, kid friendly, bike rental and arcade. The pirate ship playground was nice. I feel secure with the children riding bikes and scooters around park, people drive slow, 24 available staff. No evident permanent residence with "junky" sites. Camp host lives on site, some long term residents but super clean trailers, nothing offensive. Con's: No beach access, so you drive to the beach (dunes close by, so you can pay $5 to take a 4 wheel drive onto the dunes), 5 minutes to Pismo if you don't have 4X4 and you have to pay for parking in Pismo now, RV store expensive, drive to town to get other food is far, some staff rude (mostly good though), no tents allowed or anything on grassy area, no enclosers from awning, raccoons come onto the grounds to find food and climb in the trees by the campgrounds. There is an extra vehicle parking fee ($25/week or $4/day, extra fee's for more people at your campsite. Overall, we would stay at this park again. We had some issues when we first got here. They forgot to give us a fire pit site, which I specifically requested. So, they accommodated us by bringing a portable one to our camp. It did fine and kids were happy. Another issue: we kept losing our electricity. We complained to staff for two days to fix it, they finally did. Management came to our site and offered us two free nights for all the trouble the electricity problem caused. That was great of them to extend that courtesy. We would stay here again and would recommend to our friends.
We are seasoned RV campers and love to travel around the state in our 5th wheel, and this park is horrible. We have a 36 ft. 5th Wheel and it is like a tuna can in this park, or at least the site we were given was. It took us 40 minutes to BACK it in. We were literally inches from the cars (which were parked perpendicular under the tongue on each side)and RV next to us. We couldn't even put our awning up, it was so cramped. Would not recommend this park to anyone with a big trailer. It was clean, paved, frowned on kids and didn't allow them to ride their bicycles. Staff was nice, elderly and courteous. We had no fire pit, and the picnic table was snug up to the side of the trailer by inches to the next trailer. Not an enjoyable experience at all. Thank God it was only one night.
