Stay here every summer. Good campground in this area. Several sites are now seasonal. One seasonal site is a spectacularly upgraded and locked up for 10 years. Wish WI-FI was free/better, but that's my only complaint.
This is our third year to stay here. It is closest to downtown. It is an llder park but in very good shape. There are several long term sites but the park sits on the edge of a golf course. There was a minor hiccup with online reservations but the office staff handled everything to our satisfaction. We will stay here again.
Second time to stay here. Online reservation was flawless. Check in easy. Facility is top notch. If 15 minutes south of downtown Fort Worth is perfect for you, then this is the perfect place. Will come back!
Came in late at night and occupied a night spot as listed on the office door. The road between the office and our spot was very tight. Lots of seasonal workers and their trucks. Site was an ample length pull through with easy to find connections. When I checked in and paid the next morning the office staff was extremely helpful. They knew I came in very late (1 am) and gave me an extra discount, explaining my below rate quote. More than fine for an overnight stop in route. I would do it again.
We have stayed here many, many times. But something has changed this year. More of the sites, and practically all the best sites are now "seasonal". We were relegated to the back row, narrow sites, unable to extend awning, and I made my July reservations in March! I would guess the park is now almost 50% seasonal and growing. Add to that the Wi-Fi has not changed from pay-extra while other campgrounds in the area are free Wi-Fi. It pains me to say it, but I think I can do better at one of the other area campgrounds. If you are a first timer, be sure you know and understand what kind of site you are getting.
No frills campground. Access road from interstate is gravel and dusty. All campground roads are dirt/gravel. No shade for the short term pull throughs. Park is 85% full with what looks to be long-term workers. Always felt safe, but dust is getting in everything. I haven't been able to find another Midland selection, but if I do, I won't be back here.
Outstanding overnight. Long, level pull throughs and the hookups were well placed. Many places to choose from. I guess the only reason the place wasn't packed is that it is just a little too far from DFW. We were headed West, so it was a perfect stop for us. We will stay here again.
Return visit for us. Owners provide great service. Only a handfull in the park this time of year. Everything was very good. Wish the roads were a little bigger and the sites a little deeper, but with open spaces between, everything was good. This could get tight in the summer time. Weather required we disconnect water at night, but that was a minor issue. We've been here before, we will come back. Close to everything we want to see.
As you can read in other reviews, this is a no frills place. This is not a place to enjoy recreation. But if you are on your way to somewhere and you need a place that is easy to get into, this is the place. It has the longest pull throughs I've ever seen. Two sewer connects per site, so you can line up as you need. Very, very level, so for our late night arrival and early departure things went very smoothly. Made my reservation online and no hassles. If you need what this is, there is none better.
We are repeat campers. We stay here when we Black Friday shop. Nightly rate I posted reflects a premium for Thanksgiving Weekend AND the newly added wifi-charge. They still use Tango, but they give you account name and password login for use during your visit. A little pricey for what you get. The internet was too slow. The sites are immaculate. There are activities, and hassle free registration. All get high marks. The location is great. This isn't rustic camping. We heard rumors they plan to expand. If you need this location, this is the place to stay.
Made our annual visit about a week before the horrible Ruidoso flood of 2008. Everything was great. Park was full, or near full the entire time we were there. Had reservations and they were handled flawlessly. Recent upgrade included a relocation/expansion of the laundry room. Perfect addition. Only beef was the wifi. It is not included, costs extra and was not working from our site. We tried three times to connect and pay, but it never worked. But we didn't come for the internet. Hospitality and location is why we come. They didn't disappoint on either! We will come again next year.
If you understand what this is, then it is one of the best of this kind of camping. USFS campground with one electric loop. 50 Amp power was solid. Sites were well spaced and the view was spectacular. We camp here every chance we get. Fuel prices did not keep this area from being almost full all week. Reservations are encouraged. We did and the reservation was handled well. Can't wait to go back.
I don't think I could have found this park without GPS. Recent road work makes it hard to know how to get in and out. The entire park is not level and the sites are gravel. Hookups are adequate and basic. The office building, showers and meeting rooms are much better than the sites themselves. Convent to Santa Fe sights and the Interstate. Trees are really still shrub state, so don't expect any shade. I thought the price was just a little high for the product. Staff was very helpful. Wi-Fi was excellent.
Glad to find this place for an overnight. Older infrastructure. Had to work to get our rig to fit and hook up the 50 Amp power. Staff helpful and we have one of just a few pull throughs. Tight, small roads, but nothing that we can't handle. Lots of long term and the train track is just across the road.
Second time for us to use this park. We have business in Santa Fe every other year. The park was clean. Reservations flawless and their "marriage saver" assistance helping us back the trailer in was the best ever. I wish the lady who helped us could teach my wife and others. Her instructions were clear, concise, positive and she understood RV and the geometry to backing. Being a 55+ campground it was friendly and pet friendly. Convenient to where we need to be. We will most definitely be back in two years.
Good, basic park. We made reservations online. Everything was handled well. Several long term, area workers, but the area was clean. Easy on/easy off the interstate. We were in the Longview area for a conference and this met our need. Not a vacation spot, but overnight it was a good value. Would stay here again if we had needs in the area.
First time to stay here. Our choices were limited as many campgrounds are not operational in March. Smaller loop of pull throughs were operational. We had to disconnect water at night due to low temperatures. Reservation handled flawlessly. Owners very helpful. The upper loop, not open yet, would be our choice in warmer camping. Campground is central to Ruidoso and easy in and out. As good as anything in the area, owners help and location make it preferred over others. We will stay here again.
Would not have known about this place if not for RV Park Reviews! Infrastructure is sound, water, sewer, electricity all good. All pull throughs; LONG, could accommodate anything. We had made a reservation and had late arrival. Everything went perfectly. It's not fancy, but it is clean, clean, clean. Easy in, easy out. We will make this our Abilene stop every time.
Second February we've stayed here. Since last year, all roads have been resurfaced! It was good in 2007; it is better, even cleaner in 2008. Pool is heated and was in use every day while we were there. We made advance reservations with late arrival and everything went smoothly. Clean, safe, and near River Walk. We will stay here again next February.
We wanted full amenities with proximity to shopping. We had it all. Weather was poor, but with great roads and pads there were no problems. Santa made a visit for kids and many other events were also visible. From professional check-in to spotless bathrooms, this was good, very good. We will stay here again.
Outstanding. Current facilities are very good and there is new construction/expansion ongoing. It appears the facility will grow by about a third in the next year. When some of the newer areas have matured trees this place will be among the very best in the area. From pools (2) to laundry to campsite to office staff this is definitely a 10. I'll stay here anytime I need to be in the Fort Worth area.
We reserved a "premium" site. It was tight and a stump was in the edge of our site. While it was pull through, we really should not have paid extra for premium. Other than that, all was as advertised. Would stay here again.
Campground rating by others was very accurate. Older. Many long term residents. No cable and trees made satellite difficult. Tight roads. All very accurate. Electricity was marginal. Breaker tripped a couple of times, and at least twice the power went off in the entire campground. Still, the campground was clean, the trees gave shade to almost every unit and the location was central to where we needed to be. I'll stay here again.
Spent the week of July 4 in our annual trip to the area. We always stay here. Though it was very full due to the holiday, everything was very good. Toni and her folks took care of us. We will definitely stay here again.
Campground has gone down a little since we stayed here a year ago. Grounds a little ragged and more long term residents. Interstate 20 is under construction just outside and the entrance ramp was a little difficult to negotiated. I'll look for another facility next time through the area.
This is a National Forest campground overlooking Taylor Reservoir. New loop has electric. No water, no sewer, but great campground and views. Toilets are very clean. NFS reservation system is suggested as the campground was full the entire time we were there. Great place to get away!
Exceeded our expectations. Older, yes, but very clean. We had advance reservations and late arrival and everything worked as we were told. Bus access to River Walk was the main reason we stayed here, and were not disappointed. Nice shopping just a few blocks south and the Missions were even closer. We have a conference that brings us to San Antonio every February and we will make this our home each year.
Well maintained older campground. We made reservations and we were glad we did. No vacancy sign was out our entire time (six days). Road was a little tight, but the parking assistance made that a breeze. Very accessible to all of Santa Fe. Remarkably quiet at night. Friendly folks all around!
