Nice clean park, bare facilities, but adequate for overnight. Friendly staff. Easy access. Nicely kept park with hiking trail and picnic area. Rec hall was closed for winter months. Park was about half full. Only a few miles to a Casino if that is your thing. We would stay here again.
OK place for overnight. There is a pool, but it was too cold to try out. There is a rec hall, but we didn't try it. It is not too far from Tallahassee. It is sad and run down, and the place needs work, but the staff was friendly and helpful. Water, electric, and sewer in a pull through site is what we needed.
Beautiful, clean, friendly RV park. Many regulars, but nice neighbors. Lovely pool, hot tub, and rec room, and not too much traffic noise on south side of Houston. Nice, helpful, front office staff. But let's face it, you come to this place for water, electric, and sewer first. Someone turned my water off during the night. The electric (30 amp) service was used, but my meter went down to 18. I complained to staff and got the usual "no one has ever complained" story. I couldn't run my coffeemaker and bathroom heater at the same time. To top it off, a group of rude people were blocking the entry. Woodall's recommended this place; I wouldn't.
I agree with the previous review. But, now they do rent horses. We did an hour ride today with a guide and saw some beautiful landscapes on two of the most gentle horses I have ever seen. The owners have over 100 acres of woods along the river and the ride was mostly in wooded areas. The restrooms and laundry were clean and modern. I baked brownies in the clubhouse and had a great time talking to fellow anglers. Friendly, helpful staff and a great laundry made this stay worth the stop. We would stay here again.
We stayed here a couple of days and pretty much had the section of the park to ourselves and a herd of deer! It is a tired park, but with nice pool, putt-putt, bathhouse/laundry and clubhouse. Staff was friendly and the place was well-kept and clean. I enjoyed looking around, enjoying the wild life and watching fantastic night skies. No road noise, trains, or airplanes! The clubhouse sits overlooking the lake, and there is a footbridge to the cabins. We would stay again. Shopping/restaurants are a a few miles away, and Memphis is 50 miles if you want to do the city.
This is one of the best state parks we have ever stayed at. Yes, it is close to the road, but the noise was minimal. The restrooms/showers were clean and well kept during our 3 night stay. Many families on the weekend, but the kids stayed in the playground area. Our two dogs were right at home. It is attached to a wonderful park that has many trails, a museum, and golf course. Very friendly staff and lots of birds. I could have stayed a month!
Great spot for an overnighter or weekend getaway. The campground sites are concrete and the sites are large with a lot of grass. No pool or rec hall, but clean showers and good laundry. Hotel staff and maintenance staff is friendly--but beware of the troll that polices the campground! My site had an electrical problem and I worked with maintenance for repair, but a rainstorm delayed the work. I wasn't upset with them, but she threw a fit because my cord temporarily needed to be hooked to next site. She refused to listen and threatened to "get my supervisor" She kept at it until the manager came and listened to what I was saying and it was fixed in a few minutes. Totally unnecessary stress to an otherwise perfect relaxing place. BEWARE of THE TROLL!!
We stayed here for 5 days in our motorhome. The hot tub was a welcome relief after a few days of driving. We found the showers, laundry room, and adult and family lodges clean and in good working order. Like many TT campgrounds, many sites are reserved and occupied by long termers, but everyone was friendly and neighborly. Many families were here and the campground was full, but not loud or noisy. There were many pets camping with families, but no problems were evident. I didn't see the previously mentioned owl lady.
Great campground, set in a quiet location well off the noise of the interstate. The amenities were well kept and the showers were the best I have seen in a long time. I liked the lake view from the lodge and peacefully worked a jig saw puzzle with the help of some other campers who joined in. My only reason for not rating this campground a 10 is having to go through the gatehouse to get the the laundry and lodge. It seemed odd to go out of the campground to use the facilities of the campground. We camped here in a motorhome.
We stayed here for 2 nights. We had the Good Sams rate. They are serious: no card, no Good Sams rate. The sites are a little close together, but it was quiet and clean. It was a little unusual as the restrooms are on one side of the campground and the showers are on the other. They say they are pet friendly, but there are signs posted all over the park saying no dogs allowed. The dog walk is a small patch out front of the playground next to the road. You have to walk around the pool to get here. It was workable, but a small path to get to it.
We stayed here overnight. Staff was friendly and helpful. Nice sites, good showers, and clean restrooms. Sites are situated around a pond which is a plus in the heat. There are no sewer hook ups, but the dump station was easy to use. A Super Walmart and Home Depot are close by. Even thought it is close to a busy road, we didn't hear a lot of noise at night. We would stay here again.
Clean, quiet, good, wide spaces. The roads are not paved, so it is a bit dusty. The pool and clubhouse are centrally located, and the staff is friendly. Not much of a store, but like the previous review stated, there is shopping close by. We would stay again.
There is no pool or playground, and is is just a corner of a parking lot. No trees or shady spots. It is a great weekend or stopover. They do have laundry that works nice. Friendly staff and June has Saturday night steak/lobster buffet!
I agree with the previous reviews. We stayed two nites and loved it. It is quiet place, Two sites have water hook-ups. There is also a water hookup in the tent section. Very quiet, but one mile of gravel road. Now is season for fireflies. Check it out!
Park sits next to Rocky Mountain National Park. Great views of the mountains, elk was nearby, it is big rig friendly. General staff friendly, but don't expect any help from front desk staff. They are rude and insulting. I asked about the advertized shuttle to town and was told it wasn't operating. The pool and hot tub wasn't available Memorial Day, and the front desk didn't offer any alternatives other than what a burden it was to refill the hot tub. Managers were "unavialable" Would not return
