We've camped at Hungry Mother on several occasions. Great level sites and quiet even though it is on a fairly busy road. Wonderful trails to hike and plenty for kids/families to enjoy. Stayed 8 nights.
Nice campground for what it is - a convenient, easy on/off the interstate, one night travel stop. The bathhouse was clean and the staff we met were nice and helpful.
We have camped at many different KOA campgrounds in many different states. Usually seeing KOA means you will have a decent experience however; this campground had dirt roads and dirt sites that were not level. Junk was laying all around the campground and individual sites. Numerous "permanent" campers that were filthy and/or moldy. I actually felt sorry for the animals in the "petting zoo". The only redeeming thing about the stay was that it was only one night and it was easy on/off the interstate. I would drive a long way not to ever have to spend a night here again.
