We really enjoyed this campground. The customer service was impeccable! They have a group campfire each night complete with smores! The kids loved the playground and the arcade. Each evening a young bear would peek into the fish cleaning station and play with the fish bucket, it was really cool! The owner is REALLY involved in his park and really cares about your experience. The park is impeccably clean! I even saw them wiping down the electric meters at each site! I would highly recommend this gem of of a park!
We've been going to Kimball Creek for years now and it just keeps getting better each and every year! The owner wrote a cookbook that I highly recommend you buy. They are available at the front counter and it is their family collection of recipes that are just great! The owners are highly involved in the operation of the park and it shows. Everything is clean and well cared for. Don't forget to leave with your share of salmon! The owner's son and grandson are both fishing guides and know the Rogue river like the back of their hands!
We really weren't that excited about this park. Actually had planned to stay 3 nights, but our RV hung out into the street and we really didn't feel safe there. There was a lot of fast traffic around our site with people going to the bar, or the boat ramp. Lots of trashy residents in park, even saw an old dumpy school bus complete with a chimney parked there! There is not much for young people to do, no playground, etc. The pizza joint they advertise on the site is actually a bar, and therefore kids aren't allowed. The game room was constantly locked. We ended up leaving after the first night and were refused a refund even though we gave 24 hours notice. We won't be back.
Nice surroundings. Close to 101, so a lot of road noise. Sites are ancient, but paved and clean. Very tight for big-rigs! Sewer connections are old and require a 3" connection, an adapter I don't carry in my rig. So I had to go into the office and buy one for no less than $15 bucks! They also dinged us a $2 per pet fee which I feel is ridiculous. So with the pet fee, the overpriced initial rate of $48 per night, and the sewer adapter I'll never use again it costs us $67 for one night in the middle of no where!
Friendly staff. Owner is trying to improve campground but has a long way to go. A word of warning, they don't know how to give refunds evidently and have a strict policy against doing so. Be absolutely sure you want to stay for the entire reservation before you pay!
Nice place. A little bit cramped but the staff was very polite and provided an escort to our site. Great place to stay if visiting Monterey or planning a fishing trip in the Monterey Bay. Several great restaurants nearby. Would stay here again.
For the area you'll find nothing nicer. We camped here in April 2006 for a family fishing trip and had a great time! Staff was friendly, sites are a little tight for big rigs so make sure that you let the staff know during reservation what type of rig you have. Sites were clean and well kept. Would definently stay here again.
Beautiful Park in the Coos Bay area. As you drive down the Cape Arago highway you'll see numerous run-down RV parks and wonder if you should just turn around! Midway RV however is a jewel on this highway! All paved sites, all 50 AMP, friendly staff, impecably landscaped! The owner really took pride in this park and it shows! They do have quite a few rules, so if you are the type that don't like rules then find another place to stay. They require jack pads, or wood blocks because of the new asphalt they just invested in, so be prepared to have some on hand, if not they will provide you with some loaners. Overall a beautiful park, and as far as we've seen so far the nicest in the area!
Nice park! Would have given a "9" if they would invest in some pavement! Because it is on adjacent to the Oregon coast lots of dust in the area. This could be a destination park if the owners would invest more time and money into the park. While visiting we saw several deer throughout the park! Staff was VERY friendly, security was ever present. Overall a great Gold Beach experience! Just wish that the owners would see the potential in this park and invest accordingly!
Most likely one the nicest parks in New Orleans. A little loud due to the fact that the airport is nearby and we heard loud stereos thumping each evening. It was safe however and the staff was excellent. Pay as you go Wi-Fi is available. Considering the alternatives in New Orleans this is most likely your "best bet".
We drove in, and drove out! Simply placing this review to avoid anyone else falling into this trap! The park is right off the 10 in the GHETTO! A gang was hanging out in front of the open "security gate", drinking beer and smoking pot when we arrived. Razor wire is on the fence if that tells you anything! I saw more police cars than automobiles coming into the area. In short, do yourself a favor and stay at the New Orleans East or West KOA.
A++++ Highly recommended! One of the nicest (if not the nicest) parks we've stayed in! They have paved roads, paved sites with FULL hookups (even dual-water!) Instant-on phones, free WI-FI, the owners obviously spared no expense on this park! We could LIVE there! They have a stocked stream full of turtles, bass, and catfish. Lots of ducks roaming around. The staff was excellent to say the least! They have a small bar/restaurant that serves excellent Irish cuisine and cuisine native to the area like friend catfish, shrimp, etc. In short this park makes you forget you're in Texas!
Very clean, staff was really friendly! They have a small cafe and served us wonderful Country Fried Steak right in our Coach! Road into campground is not paved, just crushed shell. Once you are there it is a really nice and safe campground.
We camped here in March 2005 in our 40' Class A. Be sure to email for directions as we got lost for well over an hour on our way there and directions on website seem specific but are overly complicated. After speaking with fellow campers we weren't the only ones that got lost! Staff was very friendly, overall an absolute gem of a campground once you find it!
Althought this was our "maiden voyage" in our new Monaco Coach we really enjoyed ourselves. The staff was very friendly. Sites were very clean, although closer together than I would like. New playground equipment is a plus for the little ones. On the whole I hope that all of our future destination parks are as nice as this one!
