An older but very well maintained park with two pools and an elaborate play area and game room. Easy, level pull-throughs for short timers. We came to take our grandson to Schlitterbahn again but he had such fun in the pools and game room we never left the park. Some showers and bathrooms are closed this week and next for remodeling but will be very nice thereafter. There is highway and railroad noise, but we would stay here again.

A nice park, just far enough off the highway to be quiet. The camp is a pecan grove along the San Marcos river, but sites are separated from the river by dense trees so the river is not visible, but a short walk. The pull-through sites are indeed close together, and in an open field; the back-ins are closer to the water. If you have a tube or raft or any "floaty", there is a popular put-in spot below a bridge about a mile and a half up the road; drive there, then float down the river to your campsite, send someone on a bike to retrieve the truck; great fun, and free. We'll do it again.

Well laid out, small quiet park with a friendly staff. We arrived after normal hours and the folks there were very helpful in getting us into a site for the night. They are near a public park with opportunities for walking and bike trails. Coming from Arizona and New Mexico, we found a refreshing number of trees and areas of grass here. We will stop here again.

Fool Hollow Lake is in a pine forest, shaded areas between trees deep in pine needles, intriguing rock cliffs, opportunities for fishing, hiking, rock climbing. We sat around the campfire in the evening and watched the birds. The sites are well separated if you aren't sharing a double site; we could not see our neighbors. Our site was immaculate - the gravel area around the fire pit had been raked carefully. If you are moving between Phoenix and Santa Fe, you should stop off here. In mid April, non-weekend, the park was mostly empty. Many of the sites are double, two sites offset along one driveway; perfect if you're with a group, or if as in our case the other site is empty.
