We have stayed here several times during the winter months, which means the weather can be a bit iffy. This is a first-come, first-get a site park in downtown Oak Harbor, WA and can be rather busy in the summer. It is part of a city park so there is usually a lot of public use. We will stay here again.
Great park, one of our favorites. The view of the river and the ships going by is great. Park is very quiet. However they do have a lot of rules and vigorously enforce them. The Wi-Fi is a bit limited however the 4G signal is ver good. We will definitely visit again.
Great Place: if you like a resort. This one is focused on the lake and is very family orientated. It is very attractive to non campers as it has a good restaurant as well as a store and is a popular day use area. There is even a dance on Saturday nights during the summer in an open air dance hall. The dance ends at 10pm which is the start of quiet time. Unfortunately it is not a very quiet park on a busy weekend when the weather is nice, lots of parties in the park as well as on neighboring properties. Large rigs may have some difficulty getting into some sites. The sites are not level, bring extra materials to level the rig. I had elevate the front axle over 6 to 8 inches. We will use this park again.
I would have to agree with the previous comments and even made similar comments after our stay last year. Unfortunately this year we discovered the park manager is opposed to having anyone visit for even a couple hours. When our son, daughter-in-law, and granddaughter visited for dinner we were told they were not welcome, and Mr. Nice Guy turned real nasty. An interesting note - last year we did not have this problem at this park, we were able to enjoy our family for a dinner at the RV. We will not stay at this park for our annual Mt. Rainier event in the future.
Great Place - Great People It was refreshing to spend time in a park that allows a "camping experience" and still use a motorhome. The sites were large very clean and well shaded. We will definitely try to stay here more often.
We stayed 5 nights and were very pleased. The quiet rual setting was great. The park is an oases in the middle of farm country. There is easy access to many scenic byways and parks. We will definitely stay here again.
We stayed 3 nights over the Presidents Day weekend. It was great - The park is a real gem, withing walking distance of town as well as the sea shore. The downside is the sites are on a first come bases so plan early. In the winter weather can be a bit of a problem. The park is located where it can received high winds. We were rocked to sleep one night. And. of course this is Western Washington so rain is usually in the forecast during the winter. We also discovered that the water is turned off for most of the sites during the winter, however the power and sewer appeared to be on throughout the park. By early evening nearly all sites that had water were occupied. We will definitely use this park again if the opportunity presents itself. Oak Harbor and the island are great places to visit any time of the year.
Great park and a beautiful setting. It is refreshing to visit a park that is set up with usable open space; and with sites wide enough to accommodate use without encroaching into the neighbor's area. Park personal were very friendly and tried to make sure our stay was enjoyable. The park is laid out in a manner that allows nearly all the sites to have some access to water. The only down side is the park is new and the landscaping is just getting started. The lake is very shallow so it can have water quality problems however it did not seem to slow down the boating activities. Park is located on the Spirit Lake Highway allowing quick access to the Mt. St. Helens visitor centers.
Beautiful park well landscaped, however calling it a "Resort" is misleading. There were not any facilities that we would expect at a resort. It is an RV park only, one with a lot of long stay rigs. It is not a "family friendly" park. There isn't any children play area, and when one reads the park rules it is obvious that children are to be kept on a short rein. The management was very friendly and helpful. We have stayed at this park before and if visiting Walla Walla, WA in the future we will stay here again. The surrounding area is beautiful and has a lot to offer.
We have stayed at this park several times when visiting relatives in Yakima. It is a quiet park. There is not a lot of landscaping just gravel sites with large shade trees. It has a club house with a game room and other amenities. We will use this park again.
Great campground, one where everyone is welcome. The management was very friendly and helpful. In addition to the swimming pool and hot tub they had a children's play area and rental bikes. They even serve breakfast a couple days a week. Unfortunately the park is next to the train tracks and the trains use their whistle when traveling through the area. This may happen several times a night. We have stayed here before and will do so again if in the area. The train noise is a minor issue. The Columbia River Gorge is a great place to visit with lots to see and do.
