The view is a definite l0 with it being the best of all of the Five Islands. It would have been wonderful to have some chairs/benches along the banks overlooking this fabulous view. I was disappointed in how close the lots are (although the owner had been honest with me when I asked over the phone). However being there later in the season, we only had close neighbors on one of the 2 nights we stayed. The pool is in need of repair of rust stains and peeling paint. It would be nice to have a few lawn chairs around the pool or even a bench to sit to watch the little ones in the pool. I had read on the website about digging clams right on the beach, and this was no exaggeration. Almost everyone came up the hill with a bucket of clams, so be sure and bring a shovel and boots. There are several quaint places nearby to explore for bazaars, artisans and a lovely cheese factory.
If you are looking for tranquility, with large, treed sites overlooking the beautiful river, then this is the spot for you. There are several long term campers, but plenty of lovely sites left for us travelers. The only negative for us was that the park is a about 20 minutes from the nearest store or town. Late in the season, there were very few people around during the week so not a lot of opportunity to meet fellow travelers. I would definitely return with a fishing rod and some good books.
