This is an older rv park, but overall clean and grounds are well maintained. Lots of shade trees. We were in the D section, and unable to get a strong satellite signal. Cable is good with lots of stations. All sites appear to be paved/cement, but VERY narrow pads. Most likely ok years ago when this place first opened, but we were not able to get all wheels on the pad when parked to allow our front slide to be opened. I did notice some sites are not level at all. One motorhome has its front tires 4/6 inches off the ground to get it level. There are a fair amount of 'seasonal' units here, but nothing that looks run down and not maintained. The management seems nice. We asked if there would be an extra charge to stay until 5PM and where told no problem and no extra charge. We stay here because our son is attending Valdosta State University and this is the closest RV park to the campus. This is not 'destination' RV resort, but works very well for us when visiting our son at college.
Actually I did not stay in this campground. A friend wanted me to check out for him. This place is a REAL DIVE, cars up on blocks, what was left of the road in the campground had huge potholes in it, lots of trash and lots of seasonal RVers with rundown RVs. Overall really run down. I would not recommend anyone staying there.
Overall this is a very nice campground. But to be classified as an ‘RV Resort’? Not really. There is a small play area and a small pool, but that about it. This is a great overnight stop, but not much to do in the area. This is not a destination ‘RV Resort’. We paid $40 (with discount) per night for one of their ‘super sites’. Yes the site we had was nice, but $40 is a bit much for this area. This campground has tons of oak trees, with Spanish moss, that provide good shade. We have a 40 foot motor home and maneuvering throughout the campground was not a problem. This campground is located adjacent to I-75, but noise was not an issue for us, it was just too hot to be outside. The personnel here where very nice, the bathrooms/showers where air conditioned, clean and well maintained. It looks like this campground is going through a refurbishing. Newly paved access roads, newly paved sites with a small patio area, but not all sites are like this. There are still sites that are not paved and access roads that are not paved too. I don’t mind paying expensive campground fees and I’ve paid quiet a lot more for a ‘destination’ RV Resort. The only reason I gave this campground a lower rating is I personally feel $40 per night is too much for this area. I guess it’s a value thing. Your opinions may vary…
Nice campground. Since we are not into golfing, we used this as our base to sight see around the area. Everything is well maintained and the sites are large. The only two negatives, there is no shade in the campground and the ponds are used for irrigation and where almost empty.
Not to many options in the Sacramento area. This is basically a parking lot campground. No shade for the majority of the sites. The major advantage is that this campground is near to downtown, movies and shopping. We would stay there again.
This is a VERY nice campground. We stayed for just one night after visiting Zion, on our way to Las Vegas. It has to be one of the nicest we have been to. We had a site next to the river. Although we could not see the river without going down a bank, we could hear it in our site. Next time we are near Zion we will stop here again.
I consider myself a 'cult member' of those who like Topsail. We have stayed here numerous times over the last four year. This is our favorite campground. The beach is fantastic and NEVER crowded. We have not found another campground that is maintained better. The sites in the 100's are all landscaped and VERY well maintained. That is not to say the rest of the sites are not maintained, just that we consider the sites in the 100's nicer. There is only one site I would consider a bad site and that would be site 17 - very small. You really can't go wrong with Topsail.
We heard nothing but great things about this campground. After arriving we found it VERY overrated and VERY VERY over priced. We stayed in the 'pet loop'. The sites are set up rather odd. Typically you have an area on the curb side of your rv for a picnic table etc, but our site had that area BEHIND our motor home. Our site was small, we could not open our awning, was not very private and shrubs separating the sites where thin or missing. There where no shrubs directly behind our site - just a direct view of the main road behind us. The road in the 'pet loop' is VERY narrow with tree limbs over hanging the road that rubbed the roof of our motor home. Backing in a 38 foot motor home is difficult. The in ground trash can made it VERY difficult to back into our site. You won't get treated better anywhere else, after all it is 'Disney'. But with that being said we have been to much nicer campgrounds. Now I can say 'Been there - done that'. We see no need to return.
Beautiful State Park. There are a lot of pull through sites, but most are not your typical pull throughs, most are kind of a semi circle shape and not really straight. This type of site makes it difficult to park a large motor home. Roads are narrow, but manageable. I would not want to arrive in this park after dark because of the pull through site set up.
