We had a nice stay at this park. We stayed in the older section for the shade. To be honest, we will book in the newer section next time for the larger sites and not worry about the shade. Very nice staff. They were on top of it when we had an electrical issue. The staff really wants you to have a good time. Nice pool area. We will stay here again.
We have stayed at this park multiple times. This is a nice park for boaters and fishermen. Good TV signal. Saw many dishes being used. Bath houses were generally good. This was a holiday weekend and I just need to say some people need to learn to clean up after themselves. Lots of deer. Good walking and hiking park. We did not use laundry. We will stay here again.
This was our first visit to the park. We stayed in site 2. This is a COE park. The staff was very friendly and helpful. Virtually all of the sites would handle good sized rigs. I was amazed at the open public area in virtually every site. These were the biggest I have seen. Good group gathering potential. The only reason I gave this park a 9 is the distance between shower houses. There are two in the park and one general bathroom that we noticed. If you do not have a self contained unit, be prepared for a hike to the shower. We look forward to camping here again.
This is a brand new state park. It was new to us to camp in a site that had never had a fire made in the pit. All the sites were spacious and the vast majority would handle most rigs. There is still construction going on and mother nature has a lot of filling in to do, but the park will be nice. If you absolutely need shade this will not be your park for the next few years in the summer time. Fall and Spring I am sure will be beautiful. Good canoeing opportunity here as well. We will return to camp here often.
We liked this park overall. Great dog park. The staff was very nice. The sites (most) were older. Some had been reworked in loop 2. Leveling took some work and electric boxes and water were not always together. The water connections were typically the ones that would have needed extra hose. The electric seemed to be in a normal spot for most rigs. There is a nice walking area around the lake. Do not take a pull through just because you think it will be easier. Many of them are on angles and have tough turns, especially out, for many rigs. The bath house is small but clean. We would camp there again if we were in the area.
We spent 4 nice days in the Live Oak section of this park. We stayed in one of the marsh side sites. We are very glad we did. There was a nice breeze off the ocean there every day. I can not say that the breeze got much farther than our row of sites and the large increase in bugs and humidity says it did not. The ocean was a short drive/bike ride from this part of the park. There is a campground down by the beach but it was full when we tried to reserve. I liked the Live Oak section myself as there was shade. We enjoyed the bike riding opportunities on the island. We would camp here again.
Nice campground overall. The staff was very friendly. This is a boaters park, most of the guests had some form of water craft with them. One nice hiking trail. The bathrooms were clean when we used them. Most of the pull through sites were easily entered, especially the internal ones. Getting into some of the sites could be a challenge if the park is running full like the weekend we were there. Many vehicles in most sites. It appeared most sites needed some leveling help as our took a three block set. We would camp here again
This park was very nice. There was plenty to do for everyone. This was a holiday weekend, so it was full. The bathhouse was clean and for a change the firewood quantity was good for the price. We look forward to going back.
This is a good park if you are close to Atlanta. Many activities. Sites are generally level but the sites can be a bit close together. The reason for the lower rating is at the end of the trip it turned out that the dump station was backing up. A new one is under construction and I hope it is finished soon.
